Mohammed G. Khatib is a fourth-year PhD candidate in
computer science
at the
University of Twente
in the Netherlands. His main research interest is energy efficiency of storage systems. He is investigating the use of emerging MEMS-based storage technology and building a hybrid storage hierarchy from disk drives and flash memories. Mohammed visited the SSRC from January through May of 2008, where he worked with Professor Miller on workload-based configuration of
MEMS-based storage devices.
